Many programs that are titled as a master's degree in English also offer the above topics as program concentrations. For example, linguistics, literature and professional writing are all common specializations within a master's degree in English program.

For 15 years now, the film studies program has sponsored the Southern Circuit, a group of six filmmakers who visit Clemson's campus each year, screen their films, and teach sessions with the students.

Professional writing combines work in theory and research with a comprehensive emphasis on written, oral, and visual communication in professional contexts. The emphasis can prepare students to work in industry or public service.

In addition, the program provides the background necessary to pursue an M. I am a Junior student at Clemson University. I am studying English with an emphasis on Writing and Publication Studies and a General Communications minor. I am currently employed at Chick-Fil-A and have been working there for 3 years now.

I am interested in the media/publishing/editing process with writing and also have an interest in journalism. The major offers all students an extensive exploration of American, British, and world literatures, writing and publication studies, literary theory, and related disciplines, including creative writing and film.
